Stephen Balog has 40 years of diverse oil and gas industry experience in production and exploration operations, petroleum engineering, property evaluations and mergers/ acquisitions. He has held senior engineering, operations and executive management positions in both senior and junior production companies. He has a proven track record in planning and leading major oil and gas development and exploitation projects, and the management of oil and gas production operations. Technical and project management experience includes oil and gas field development, production optimization, operations management, enhanced recovery process evaluation and project design, property evaluations, corporate reserves management and acquisitions/ divestitures advisory.

 

Mr. Balog holds a B.Sc. degree from the University of Calgary in Chemical Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). He is a member of multiple industry associations and was a key contributor to preparing and implementing the Canadian Oil & Gas Evaluation Handbook.

David Birnie has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in exploration and development, strategic planning, economic evaluations, risk assessment, and technology strategy development and implementation. He has held senior technical and planning positions within Chevron Corporation in three countries. He works together with clients and available project data to develop practical, fact-based and cost-effective solutions. A skilled geoscientist and explorationist, Mr. Birnie provides project framing and planning of new venture projects, geological and geophysical interpretations, geotechnical due diligence, project management and marketing. He has a record of successful hydrocarbon discovery in Canada, Indonesia, Egypt, India and Colombia. Mr. Birnie is a creative intuitive thinker who is a continuous source of “great ideas”.

 

Mr. Birnie holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Geological Engineering and Geophysics respectively from Queen’s University and the University of British Columbia. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Calgary, specializing in Finance. He is a registered Professional Geoscientist with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).

Mary Kai Manson has over 30 years of diverse of Upstream oil and gas industry experience in technology planning and integration, project framing, geomatics, mapping, data management, data integration, work flows, and advanced visual analytics. With an engineering background, and as a project manager and information technology professional, Ms. Manson has developed and delivered solutions, management, marketing and services to organizations with operations in Canada and worldwide. Her commitment and strengths lie in working with clients to prioritize, frame and manage practical, focused cost effective solutions to both everyday needs as well as insightful value-add opportunities which leverage improved work flows, data and technology. Her experience includes projects involving all disciplines within and supporting the exploration and production spectrum enabling solutions for use by all levels of workers from field operators through to the executive office.

 

Ms. Manson holds a B.Sc. degree from Queen’s University specializing in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Calgary, specializing in Accounting and Information Systems.
