Western Canada
Alconsult has initiated preliminary programming for the design of a pilot heavy-oil development in north central Alberta and is presently monitoring a large scale environmental assessment of the area. The development stage follows a reservoir evaluation by Alconsult and Geoseis geophysical and geological specialists based on interpretation of a 3D 3C seismic program covering the operator’s license area.
International
Exploration interest is heating up in East Africa. Recent oil discoveries coupled with increased gas and oil development activity are attracting Canadian and international companies. Alconsult has extensive data, reports, and expertise throughout East Africa covering coastal basins extending throughout East Africa and Western Indian Ocean. Licensing rounds are ongoing in several of these countries. Detailed reports and data are available from Alconsult for Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, NE South Africa, Madagascar and the Seychelles.
Alconsult geological and geophysical consulting services (G&G) and technical training are also being provided to clients with current operations in west Africa and Asia. Recently, the firm provided a 10 day course in seismic processing to representatives from West Africa. Formal instruction and hands-on-training were delivered by processing training specialists using the trainees’ in-country data for part of the course.
Alconsult and Geoseis form alliance
Alconsult and Geoseis Inc. are pleased to announce that the two firms have entered into an alliance whereby both parties will market and together supply geological, geophysical and engineering (GG&E) consulting, interpretation and technology services to clients seeking innovative ideas and technical leadership and support for new venture or existing projects in Western Canada, Canadian Frontier or International areas. Alconsult offers expertise both in conventional oil and gas applications and in reservoir and drainage strategies for the application of new in-situ heavy oil technologies. Geoseis Inc, a growing GG&E consulting and technology services company, provides Canadian and International project interpretation and mapping services to assist clients. In the technology services arena GEOSEIS specializes in delivering software applications and toolkits together with associated work flows, data preparation, analysis, integration, mapping and support. They are a progressive team of bright and capable geoscientists, engineers, and technology professionals with extensive data and business expertise (www.geoseis.ca). To further strengthen the alliance, Alconsult International Ltd. has relocated to Suite 600, 744 -4th Avenue S.W. Calgary, adjacent to the offices of GEOSEIS.
